Seita Academy

SEITA Academy has Been Launched

As we mentioned in our turn of the year blog post, SEITA Academy has now been officially launched! We are expanding the training side of our expert services by offering more training courses, from new organizations with an increasingly varied field of themes.

The Academy’s operation gets underway in May, with a much lauded Mobile Payments Masterclass from UL Transaction Security. The training comes at a very opportune time, as mobile payments are gaining a lot of traction in the Nordics.

After this, the training’s take a short break for the summer and the activity kicks up again in fall, with a retake of the well liked EMV & Contactless -training.

The EMV class held at the start of the year did receive excellent feedback. This was the impetus, which encouraged us to kick-start the operation of SEITA Academy with a fast repeat of the course.

Excellent Feedback From the First Course

The first EMV training  was very positively received. Especially, the benefits for fresh payment developers and testers were highlighted. The course managed to provide vital information on the EMV standard as well as the related testing process.

The training was held by UL Transaction Security’s Paolo Arienti, who garnered plenty of praise from the attendees. Especially his expertise in combining technical and business viewpoints was commended.

The training started with a brief look into the payment ecosystem and the basics of EMV. The heat rose, as we moved on to EMV’s safety mechanisms and the linked business decisions. The first day concluded with a hefty debriefing on EMV architecture and transaction flows.

The second day was even more advanced, providing a glimpse into cryptography, issuer authentication and predictions about the future of EMV. After this, the participants had to put their learning into practice in the form of case exercises.

The training will be held again in the early fall (29.-30.8.2017). So if you missed the first course, now is the time to update your EMV expertise to the present time.

SEITA Academy Swings Into High Gear

During the next year, you can expect even more payments training from Seitatech. The courses held with UL will continue, and in fall we will be beginning a new cooperation with a Finnish training organization Projektivarikko. The current plans include the Mobile Payments Masterclass held in May, as well as four more courses during the year.

The cooperation with UL Transaction Security started from Seita’s own need for training. Our CTO Mikko Laaksonen did a test run of the offered EMV and PSD2 courses and was thoroughly impressed with the contents and the overall quality of the training. This should come as a no surprise, as UL-TS is known as the most important training organization in the payments industry.

The inspiration for training partnership started with the need to provide training for our own employees. The initial plan was just to provide the leftover seats to our partners for a nominal price. Turns out, there is quite a bit of demand for new higher level training in the field, and thus we decided to partner up with UL in order to make it easier for Finnish players to access world class payment industry training.

New Collaboration with Projektivarikko

The upcoming partnership with Projektivarikko also has roots in our personal experience. Last year we organized a Projektipaja -workshop for our team in order to further improve our teamwork. As a result, our internal communication improved and we increased the efficiency of our projects.

When we started thinking about new training collaborators, Projektivarikko was an obvious choice. Our aspiration was that our partners could also be able to improve their project management in their excellent workshops.

Everyone Deserves Feedback

Communication skills are growing in significance, both in and out of work. When tech is tech and projects are executed professionally, everything can be crowned with proper interaction.

We are launching a Deep Lead -Communication Coaching, which primary objective is to help people improve in critically evaluating their own behavior, and develop their communication skills. The coaching is suitable for leaders, managers, as well as specialists. We guarantee that this training will give you concrete tools to develop as a professional.

The Training Continues in May
