Linnanmäki – Finland’s Most Beloved Amusement Park

Linnanmäki is Finland’s oldest and most popular amusement park, located in Helsinki’s Alppila district. The park features over 40 rides, a wide variety of games, and numerous restaurants and cafés. It is operated by the Children’s Day Foundation, which raises funds for child welfare initiatives. Over the years, the amusement park has contributed approximately €130 million to support child protection efforts.

When Linnanmäki’s gaming operations team started looking for a new partner to improve payment options for prize machines, they conducted a thorough international comparison.

“When we met with Seitatech and shared our needs, they clearly aimed to find the right and most suitable solution for us. It was also great to end up with a domestic option,” says Heidi Pernaa, Head of Gaming Operations at Linnanmäki.

“We wanted to offer our customers more diverse payment options. Carrying cash has decreased, so we aimed to provide the possibility to play prize machines without using cash,” Pernaa continues.

A Tailored Payment Solution for Every Machine Type

Linnanmäki and Seitatech worked closely together to select the most suitable payment terminals for each prize machine model, ensuring that every machine received a technically optimized solution. According to Pernaa, Seitatech played an active role in the installation phase, ensuring a smooth and efficient implementation.

“I appreciate that the company has strong expertise in microelectronics and data communication. They understand us well, meaning they know exactly what gaming operations at Linnanmäki require,” Pernaa praises.

She also highlights Seitatech’s transparent and proactive communication throughout the collaboration.

“Together, we have been able to develop, for example, the reporting of prize machines. We are happy to continue working with Seitatech and, whenever possible, increase the number of payment terminals in the future.”
